The story behind Pocket Pumps

Pocket Pumps began with a feeling so many women know all too well - loving the outfit, loving the heels… and a few hours later, wishing you had something comfortable tucked away in your handbag.

For me, that feeling has been part of countless race days, weddings and special occasions. I’m Lisa, the woman behind Raceday Runway, and fashion - particularly the art of dressing for the races - has become a huge part of my life.

Over the years, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to win eight Best Dressed titles at racecourses across Ireland, including Galway Ladies’ Day 2026. I know just how much thought can go into creating an outfit, from the dress and millinery right down to the shoes, bag and finishing touches.

But I also know the less glamorous reality.

After hours in heels, there inevitably comes that moment when your feet have had enough. I wanted something I could slip into my handbag at the beginning of the day and forget about until I needed it. Something compact and practical, but still feminine enough to feel at home alongside a carefully chosen outfit.

That idea became Pocket Pumps.

Designed to fold neatly into their own little pouch, Pocket Pumps are there for that moment when you’re ready to step out of your heels but you’re not ready for the day to end.

And while the idea was inspired by my love of race-day fashion, Pocket Pumps were never intended just for the races. They’re for weddings that turn into nights on the dance floor, parties that go on longer than planned, special occasions, debs and all those lovely days when you want to dress up without wondering how long your feet will last.

For me, Pocket Pumps are about something very simple: enjoying the occasion from the first step to the very last.

Change your heels, not your plans!
